Morgan County Board of Registrars

The Board of Registrars is responsible primarily for registering voters and maintaining voter rolls, which comprises a host of many tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance. These include:

  • Updating voters who’ve informed us of a move with information about their new voting locations

  • Removing deceased voters and convicted felons

  • Removing voters who have located outside of the county

  • Transferring voters into Morgan County from other counties when notified

  • Redistricting voters when there are line changes

  • Providing official certificates of voter registration as requested by people receiving notaries

  • Providing poll lists for all elections

Voter Registration Information

There are many ways to register to vote quickly and easily in Morgan County. The quickest is to download a State of Alabama Postcard Voter Registration on this site, print the form, fill it out, and mail it to our office using the address provided on this page. If you have already registered to vote, you can update your information using this same form.

You may also request a postcard voter registration application from this office by phone. Call 256-351-4660 to request a registration form.

Voter registration is also available from the Morgan County Board of Registrar’s office at the Morgan County Courthouse.

Voter registration services may also be obtained at the following locations:

  • Drivers Licensing Office
  • County & Select Municipal Libraries
  • Alabama Department of Human Resources
  • WIC Program (Department of Public Health)
  • Medicaid Agency
  • Department of Rehabilitation Services
  • Any public four-year university
  • Select private four-year universities

Important: Voter registration is closed for 14 days before an election.


Qualifications to Vote in Alabama

To register to vote in the state of Alabama, an individual must meet the following qualifications:

  • United States citizenship

  • Reside in Alabama

  • Age 18 or older

  • No convictions of a disqualifying felony or have had rights restored

  • No legal court declaration of being mentally incompetent
