Chairman Ray Long: Leading the Commission Since 2010
Chairman Ray Long oversees day-to-day operations of county government. Although his office is located at the courthouse, his responsibilities include overseeing departments at off-site locations.
Primary Duties
Managing the county’s overall budget, monitoring spending to make sure departments are staying within fiscal budgets
Presiding over twice-monthly county commission meetings
Representing Morgan County throughout the state and nationally
Actively promoting the county in step with other county agencies to elevate its attractiveness for industrial and residential growth

Chairman Long and his wife, Regina, reside in Somerville, where he served as mayor before becoming Chairman of the Commission. They have three children and eight grandchildren.
