District 2 Commissioner Randy Vest: Serving the County Since 2010
Commissioner Randy Vest serves District 2, which includes Hartselle, west to the Lawrence County line at Danville, east to Somerville at the intersection of Highways 67 and 36, north to Flint and Priceville, and south to Massey and Falkville.
Primary Duties
Maintaining roads and right-of-way
Overseeing the District 2 budget
Collaborating with fellow commissioners and chairman to ensure county departments have adequate funding to provide services for all residents
Providing maintenance and operational support for Morgan County Farm Services facility and senior citizen centers in District 2
Providing support for Morgan County Economic Development Association, Morgan County Board of Education, Volunteer Fire Departments and municipalities by promoting engagement and relationship building

Appointed by the Governor to serve two years on the Committee on Alabama Monument Protection (CAMP)
Appointed by the Secretary of State to serve on the Board of Registrars Task Force

Personal
Commissioner Vest and his wife, Saronda, live west of Hartselle. They have three children and 10 grandchildren.
Scheduled Projects
Assist departments with outdoor practice facilities and drainage issues
Construction of the County Commission’s first gymnasium located at Charles Sparkman West Park with the creation of additional parking at the Neel athletic complex
Using Rebuild Alabama funds to resurface eight county roads
Work in Progress
Right-of-way mowing
Working with City of Hartselle and the Alabama Department of Transportation on shared road projects.
Installing new driveway pipes
Repairing base failures on several roads in District 2
